1. About this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how MQTT Alert handles information when you use the application.
MQTT Alert is an Android application that allows you to connect to MQTT servers/brokers, publish and receive MQTT messages, and configure MQTT connections and alarms.
The application is developed by Jonas Lindekrantz.

2. What information does the app process?
MQTT App may store information that you enter yourself in the application in order to configure and use MQTT connections.
This may include:
Name of an MQTT connection
MQTT broker address
MQTT port
MQTT Client ID
MQTT username
MQTT password
MQTT topics
MQTT messages received by the app
Trigger and alarm settings
Local logs created by the app
The information actually stored depends on which features you use and what information you choose to enter.
3. How is the information used?
The information is used only to provide the application's functionality.
For example, MQTT connection information is used to:
Connect the app to the MQTT broker you have configured
Authenticate with the MQTT broker when a username and password are used
Publish MQTT messages
Receive MQTT messages
Maintain MQTT connections
Manage triggers and alarms that you have configured
Display and store local logs
The app does not use this information for advertising, profiling, or marketing.
4. MQTT Communication
When you connect to an MQTT broker, the information required for MQTT communication is sent to the broker that you have configured.

The broker address being used to establish the connection
The MQTT Client ID being sent to the broker
Your username being sent to the broker if you have provided one
Your password being sent to the broker if authentication is required
MQTT messages being sent to or received from the broker
The MQTT broker may be a service provided by a third party. The third party's own privacy policy and data handling practices apply to information sent to that service.
The developer of MQTT App has no control over how an MQTT broker selected by the user processes information.
5. Local Storage
MQTT App may store configuration information and logs locally on your Android device.
Local storage is used so that the app can:
Remember your MQTT connections
Remember your settings
Restore configuration after the app has been closed
Manage triggers and alarms
Display previous MQTT logs
Data that is stored only locally on your device is not automatically sent to the developer.
6. Passwords and Security
MQTT App may handle MQTT passwords that you enter for an MQTT connection.
The app uses these credentials only for the MQTT account or MQTT broker that you have configured.
You should use TLS/encrypted MQTT connections whenever your MQTT broker supports them, especially when authentication credentials are transmitted over a network.
No method of storing or transmitting data can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are also responsible for the security of the MQTT broker and networks that you choose to connect to.
7. Sharing of Information
MQTT App does not sell your personal information.
MQTT App does not share your locally stored MQTT configurations or logs with the developer for advertising or marketing purposes.
When you use an MQTT broker, however, the information required for MQTT communication is sent to the broker you have chosen.
The developer cannot control how external MQTT brokers process the information sent to them.
8. Analytics and Advertising
MQTT App does not use user data for personalized advertising.
If the app starts using analytics, advertising, or other third-party services that collect or share user or device data in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such data processing is introduced.
9. Background Operation and MQTT Service
MQTT App may use an Android foreground service to keep MQTT connections active when the application's user interface is not visible.
When this feature is used, the app may continue communicating with the MQTT broker you have configured.
This background communication is used for the application's MQTT functionality and not for advertising or tracking.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
MQTT configurations and local logs are stored on the device for as long as they are needed for the application's functionality or until you delete them.
You can delete configured MQTT connections and local logs using the application's available functions.
You can also delete the application's locally stored data through Android's app settings or by uninstalling the application.
When the application's local data is deleted, the data stored locally by the app is removed.
Information that has already been sent to an external MQTT broker cannot be deleted by MQTT App. For such information, you need to contact the operator of the relevant MQTT broker.
11. Children
MQTT App is not specifically directed at children.
The app is intended for users who use MQTT and related technologies.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if the application's functionality or data processing practices change.
The current version of this Privacy Policy will be published on the web page where this policy is available.
The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this Privacy Policy.
